Day 7 of Challenge

And here are the day seven pictures.

The prompt today was YES!. Unfortunately, not all of us seemed likely to have a moment like this. But we made it through and found moments to say YES! (with obligatory fist pump).

D1 was very pumped about her mac and cheese baked casserole.
"Om nom nom!"

D2 was excited by the level of enthusiasm that her little sister showed when she picked her up from school.
"You're really here!"

My moment was entirely prompted by having a bad day and my daughter's reaction to it.
!
"Damn it Mom!"

Nov 6 Pics

It was a very busy day yesterday. Worked for 9 hours and then had the company dinner party to attend. It didn't help that I didn't have a camera with me when I needed it. So I ended up having to wait for a friend to send me the picture that I wanted. But she came through and I received the picture this morning.

The theme was "made me smile today"

D1, who has been working on restoring a vehicle with her boyfriend, submitted this picture:
The reason it made her smile was because she did the work to retrieve the door all by herself, in a very short time.

D2 had a different reaction. Her days have been filled with babysitting for me when I work. Lately it has been very stressful. However, her two siblings acted like little angels all day, which made her smile.

Yup... angels.

My reaction and picture was different. Even though early in the season for it, the dinner party was a Christmas party. And there was a serious ugly sweater contest going on. There's so much more to this story than can possibly be explained here, but the gist of it is, one of the department managers had an awesome ugly sweater that he made himself. Kudos Flex!

Day 5 of Challenge

Day 5 already. This one was a simple matter. Plus I got to show off my collection. Or at least part of it.

So, D1's collection is-
Pictures of my cat, Sulley. (Interesting!)

D2 likes to collect video games. (Knew this one.)

And I like to collect...

Candles, candle holders and candle paraphernalia. And oh look, there's my photo of my family. Hmm, two in one. I did well.

Looking forward to tomorrow's prompt, "made me smile".

November 4 Pics

Hmm, missed posting the photos yesterday. Got caught up in some stuff and didn't get around to here. But that's okay, they all come out in the wash. Tons of pictures from yesterday. So, here we go, a little, okay, a lot sentimental on these pictures.

Day three- "I can't live without..."

From Daughter 2, a picture of me, which seems to indicate me. Yeah, she wouldn't be alive without me, so I guess I am indispensable, lol.

Daughter 1 gave me many, many pictures, but I understand all of them.

Can't live without her boyfriend;

Her first sister;

Her best friend;

Her youngest sister;

Her second sister;

Her mommy (what is with these children loving me so darn much);

And last (but only 'cause he's the newest) her godson!

As for myself, I followed along the same vein.

The things that I can't live without:

My daughters, whether together or apart, though we're a real fun bunch when we're together and then indeed;

My whole family. And there's my mother (whom I adore) right in the middle of it all.

So that's it. The things we can't live without had nothing to do with a thing, but rather family. Pretty much the family that we've created for ourselves in many instances. But every person pictured above is pretty special to me too, so I don't blame the kids one bit.

Coming soon:       "I collect..."

P Is For

Today marked the third day of the pic a day challenge. It didn't go so well for some of us. As can be seen. So...

P is for...

Pasta!

D1 stopped in to see a friend of hers and this friend fed her, taking pity on her lunch-less state.

P is for...

Phantom Hourglass from D2. This is in honour of November also being Legend of Zelda month.

Who knew?

Now my picture tells a different story. Before we began this event, I dropped my digital camera and it broke. So I found the spare that we had. It worked well, until I got home today, where it suddenly quit working. Which led to my photo,

P is for

Pissed off.

I just was not in the best mood. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Or at least a different picture.

Tomorrow's prompt is: I can't live without this!

Day 2

So it's day 2. So far we have been trying to encourage one another. This is good, except when it feels like nagging from the children. We all get there in our own time!

The prompt today was "I did this..."

D1 gave us this:

She is currently attending school and has come so far. I'm very proud of her!

D2 gave me this picture:

This is a shot of her littlest sister, whom she picks up every day from school. They had fun taking these pictures and I'm very happy to see that she is getting some enjoyment out of babysitting.

As for myself, I did plenty today. At work at least. Once I was home, I should have taken a picture of my bed as all I wanted to do was sleep. Instead, I did this:

And this picture represents the other big non-family specific event that I like to participate in. National Novel Writing Month. Trying to write 50,000 words in one month.

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to this new blog. A place to feature the picture a day challenges that my daughters and I are participating in. Without further ado, November 1st, 2016:

Prompt: something blue

Daughter 1's choice of blue was her boyfriend's eyes.

Daughter 2's choice of blue was her prom dress.

My blue was the Chevy Blazer that I bought. First vehicle that I've owned by myself.
