D1 gave me this:
She wanted to preserve the memories that we were making than the memories from a long time ago.
Something that the older children have enjoyed is Shakespeare In The Park (or the local equivalent) and the previous summer, they had taken their little sister to see her first Shakespearean tragedy. She found it amazing, they found her reaction hilarious.
My memory is based on the year that I was extremely sick with an inner ear infection that laid me low for weeks. Even after the infection was gone, the doctor would not allow me to carry or lift my younger children for fear that my balance would be adversely affected and I might drop them.
During my recovery, my elder two daughters cooked, cleaned, missed school events, and even were flunked in a few classes, to take care of me and their sisters and even made me a special birthday dinner, complete with cake. I was too sick to appreciate it then, but it meant more than they will ever know.
